Purpose
These guidelines will ensure clear procedures are in place to Promote healthy eating and exercise as part of the daily program in each FDC home
Scope
These guidelines will apply to the Approved provider, nominated supervisor, Certified supervisor, educators, staff, students on placement, volunteers, parents, children and others attending the service.
Objectives
To support the health, well-being and inclusion of all children enrolled at FIRST IDEA FAMILY DAY CARE SERVICES, To ensure that children have a nutritious diet and regular physical activity, each FDC educator will promote healthy eating and exercise as part of their program To minimise hazards and health risks associated with handling food at the FDC service
Policy
At FIRST IDEA FAMILY DAY CARE SERVICES, we ensure that food and drinks provided is consistent with recommendations of the Australian Government Healthy Eating and Physical Activity Guidelines for Early Childhood Settings And/ or the Dietary Guidelines for Children and Adolescents in Australia. And to ensure safe food handling procedures are in practice for the safety and well being of all the children and stake holders of the service.
